Tell Us Your Disney Story
Earlier this week I wrote about a possible second renaissance for Walt Disney Animation. You can read it here. I found the post to be met with passion, as either some folks whole heartedly agreed with me or adamantly went the other way and called me names. It’s okay, I only cried for a little while.
There was one thing I gleaned from the responses I received. Disney fans are passionate! I mean really passionate.
I’ve been called a Disney snob by many a friend, family member and coworker myself. Many of you have as well. Why? Because this thing called Disney excites us. Whether it’s the parks, live action, classic animation, renaissance, Pixar or any other things related to the Disney universe. I know I’m stating the obvious here. The Disney fan is the most passionate fan. Years ago, I probably would have said Star Wars fans were the most passionate fandom, but seeing how those worlds have officially collided, we’ll just call it all Disney for arguments sake.
Why though? Why are we so passionate? Why do you love Disney so much?
This is the start of something I hope will be an awesome weekly post. I am inviting you, the D-Cast reader and listener to tell us your Disney story. Why do you love Disney? Why do you hold certain movies so dear? What childhood memories do you have going to the parks with your family, or watching VHS tapes of Aladdin with your siblings or seeing Toy Story in theaters opening weekend?
I would love to share one of your Disney stories each Saturday here on theDcast.com.
So tell us your Disney story. Write a blog post, send it to us and we’ll post it on Saturdays.
You can send us your stories via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
